PADI Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. A highly-trained PADI Instructor will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment.

During the Open Water Diver course, your instructor will ask you to:
Youth take the same course as the adults. Divers certified between the ages of 10-14 earn a Junior Diver certification. Junior Open Water Divers automatically become Open Water Divers at age 15.
There is 2 options to complete this course: eLearner or Traditional Learning.
PADI Open Water eLearner
This is our most popular and newest option. It is very convenient to use on any computer, tablet or mobile device. Once you register with us for eLearning you will be sent a special code that sets you up for the eLearner course. All classroom work is now online and there will be no need to come in and sit in on hours of class time. It is eco-friendly, convenient, and fun. Also a great option for the kids or the busy family always on the go.
Course includes: eLearning code, 2 hour orientation in the classroom to go over a quick review quiz, pool sessions, eLearning crewpack, referral for open water dives, use of all scuba equipment for the pool, and discounts on gear.
$279 plus GST
*If you sign up for the PADI Open Water Diver eLearning through the PADI website by clicking on the link in the picture there will be extra costs for the review class session & pool session.
PADI Open Water Traditional Learning
In this option you will be given a crew pack with a open water manual in it. You will work on this book work at home going over all all the chapters. Then you will book in for your classroom sessions (roughly 10 hours) to work with an instructor going over your books, videos, tables and quizzes/final exam. Then we will head into the pool for some more fun.
Course includes: open water crew pack, classroom sessions, pool sessions, referral for open water dives, use of all scuba equipment in pool, and discounts on gear.
$249 plus GST
Traditional Open Water courses run Friday night starting at 6pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday all day from 9am-5pm. We also offer weekdays Monday to Friday, 6pm-10pm for all 5 nights.
eLearning courses run Friday night starting at 6pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-5pm. We also offer weekdays Monday to Thursday 6pm-10pm for all 4 nights.

Open Water Dives
Once you have completed your Class and Pool training, there is 4 Open Water Dives that needs to be completed in order to get your Open Water card. These take place in Lake Chaparral (option to schedule for Waterton Lakes, or Two Jack Lake) over 2 days. This includes 4 open water dives, use of all scuba gear, and your certification card.
$219 plus GST
Add on the PADI Drysuit Speciality to the Open Water Dives! Extra $119 plus GST
If you don't like the sound of jumping into the cold water in only a wetsuit, why not do all the dives in a Drysuit? Includes an additional dive in the pool, Drysuit manual, extra dive in the lake, and certification card.
Dives are offered on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Lake Chaparral starting at 4pm. Please check our our calendar page for dates.
* Our courses are performance based not time based. Meaning we will work with you the student as much as you need to for you to master the skills comfortably and confidently, there is no time restrictions.*

*Before your program starts you will need to look over the Divers Medical form below. Please read the instructions on these forms. If you answered YES to any of the questions you WILL need to see the Doctor BEFORE your program starts. Aqua Dive will also have each student fill out the Declaration Forum COVID before the program starts, you can look over this forum below.
